Artist's Description
This straw flower plant was given to me as a tiny plant to grow. It has flourished into a beautiful, large plant with many flowers. It dies like full sun so I had to try several places that would be best for growth.
Xerochrysum bracteatum, commonly known as the golden everlasting or strawflower, is a flowering plant in the family Asteraceae native to Australia. Described by Étienne Pierre Ventenat in 1803, it was known as Helichrysum bracteatum for many years before being transferred to a new genus Xerochrysum in 1990
About Charlene Adler
Charlene Adler is a native of Wisconsin and lives in both Wisconsin and Texas. As a retired teacher, having taught for 25 years, Art has always been a way to express myself whether it be oil painting or photography. To be able to capture an eagle in flight, a flower just blooming or a hummingbird flying is a joy to my heart. All my work is my own. I enjoy showing my photographs as taken or enhancing some with digital art. I think this saying by Carl Sandburg applies to a photographer looking for the perfect shot. "I'm an Idealist. I don't know where I'm going but I'm on my way." http://charlene-adler.artistwebsites.com/
